- "Lent" is from the Middle English "Lente" which means "springtime".
- Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends with Easter Sunday Service
- The Lenten period allows us time to recall the Easter Story and absorb its meaning that Jesus Christ lived and died to redeem the world from sin.
